उत्तर: कुमार भास्कर वर्मा प्राचीन कामरूप राज्य के महान राजा थे, जो 593 ई. में राजा बने। उनके शासनकाल से ही असमीया जातीय ईस्वी (भास्कराब्द) की गणना होती है। उनकी मित्रता उत्तर भारत के राजा हर्षवर्धन से थी। चीनी यात्री वेनसांग के अनुसार, उनके राज्य की सीमा 1675 मील तक फैली थी। उनकी ‘डूबि ताम्रलिपि’, ‘निधानपुर ताम्रलिपि’ और ‘नालंदा की मुहर’ असम के महत्वपूर्ण ऐतिहासिक धरोहर हैं।
(ख). आनंदराम बरुवा
उत्तर: आनंदराम बरुवा असम के प्रथम स्नातक और प्रथम भारतीय असैनिक सेवा अधिकारी (आई.सी.एस.) थे। उनका जन्म 1850 में उत्तर गुवाहाटी में हुआ था। वे संस्कृत के प्रकांड विद्वान थे। 2005 से असम सरकार ने एच.एस.एल.सी. में उत्तीर्ण विद्यार्थियों के लिए ‘आनंदराम बरुवा’ पुरस्कार की शुरुआत की है।
